Leadership Programme Entrepreneurial learningThe focus will be entirely on you for three years and you will face challenges that are new and unfamiliar. You will base your work on your own interests and ideas, encounter setbacks, reflect on your actions, succeed and learn. During these challenges you will cooperate with others (both within and outside the school), take responsibility, calculate risks and solve problems. You will have a small close-knit team of teachers on hand to support and guide you towards finding and developing your will, drive and talent. Practical and theoretical subjects are included through varied teaching during extended blocks of lectures conducted as projects. The goal is for you to be able to develop and realise your ideas upon completion of the programme. LeadershipWhat abilities do tomorrow’s leaders have? We believe that the leadership of the future is built on strong individuals who can lead themselves – only then can they lead others. For example, leading yourself can include making educated choices when choosing between various alternatives. In the Health & Leadership Programme you will learn more about how to make good choices for your future. Entrepreneurship
Where are the job opportunities of tomorrow? Most experts increasingly agree that we do not currently know what kinds of jobs there will be in the future. During the course of this health and leadership programme you will build up your ability to think creatively, believe in yourself and take responsibility for your future – to be able to create your own work. You will develop your ability to cooperate with and make your knowledge valuable to others. Enhancement of these abilities is a cornerstone of all educational aspects of the programme. HealthIn the Health & Leadership Programme you will learn the foundation for a lifestyle that strengthens your health both physically and mentally. For example, by studying stress physiology, nutrition and mental training you will learn to interpret your body’s signals. Through selected courses and continual coaching you will build up your self-knowledge and self-confidence as well as the feeling of security in body and mind. Upper secondary school education with a holistic approachIn the first year you learn how to work in projects – which includes how to start and run your own company. You will learn the foundations of a holistic approach to health and business skills. Here we give you scope to develop your strengths! In the following academic years you work on incorporating the course goals into your projects. The goal is for you to be able to stand firmly in a changing world upon completion of this educational programme, to know what to do to keep healthy, establish new good habits, and have the ability to create your own job. Quite simply, you will be enabled to take control of your own life and have good inherent leadership abilities. After the programme you will be eligible to apply to a long list of different higher education programmes, and you will possess valuable skills that are advantageous in the workplace. Examples of fields of work (either immediately after this programme or following further studies) are the wellness industry, small business ownership, project management, human resources, the corporate wellness field, health strategy, health therapy, law enforcement, organisational development, social worker, psychology and teaching. The Solbacka Akademi visionSunne Municipality aims to realise ideas of creating a new school and competence centre focusing on health, leadership and entrepreneurship – Solbacka Akademi. The plan is for Solbacka Akademi to run three types of study programmes: upper secondary programmes, Advanced Vocational Education and Training (AVET) programmes and specially designed courses. The upper secondary Health & Leadership Programme is currently run by Broby Grafiska, but will be organised by Solbacka Akademi in the future. Vocational programmeThe Health & Leadership Programme is a vocational programme designed to prepare students for working life. The programme comprises ¬¬2,500 upper secondary school credits. The number of credits is calculated based on one week’s full-time studies corresponding, on average, to 25 upper secondary school credits. The guaranteed number of teaching hours is 2,430. At Broby Grafiska you have the opportunity to study 2,550 credits within the framework of the regular school day by means of an extended individual curriculum. Basic eligibility for further studiesAfter you have finished your upper secondary level studies with at least a Pass in at least 90% of the 2,500 credits, you will have basic eligibility to continue your studies at a third-level college/university or to take AVET programmes. It is a good idea to find out at an early stage of your upper secondary school education what special qualifications are required for the further education programme in which you are interested. MarksMarks are given at the end of each course. The grading scale is IG/Fail, G/Pass, VG/Pass with distinction, and MVG/Pass with special distinction. You must have a mark in all courses in order to receive a school leaving certificate. Attendance is an important factor in being successful with your studies. Individual choiceIndividual choice consists of 300 credits that you choose. You can select courses based on interests that are not included in the overall education programme, choose to do more in-depth training within the programme, and/or to broaden your eligibility for further studies. You can choose freely from the range of subjects that the school offers. The number of students interested determines whether the courses will be held. You also have the option to choose an additional course, worth 50 credits, in the extended individual choice framework. This course is guaranteed. Project workThis course is worth 100 credits and the work must be linked to the education programme and its goals. For example, you can do a survey or investigative study, develop a concept, and much more. In setting grades, the study process itself is as important as the result.
