Scriptwriting, 1 year

Scriptwriting from a holistic perspective

This is an advanced one-year distance-based vocational programme. The programme gives you the opportunity to develop as a scriptwriter for films, TV and interactive media. You will learn to master the basics of dramaturgy and various narrative models and develop your artistic ability. You will also gain theoretical and practical knowledge of interactive narration.

Development, guidance and discussion

Most of the work is conducted as distance learning with the aid of an Internet-based program. You mainly work on your own writing projects and participate actively in script discussions and exercises with other students. You receive guidance from professional dramaturgists and instructors. We work with some of the top dramaturgists and filmmakers in the Nordic countries.

Joint meetings with lectures and feedback

The course takes place in the form of three sessions per term, including script analysis sessions, guest lecturers, film analysis, workshops, and meetings with professional Scriptwriters, Actors, Directors, Producers and Film Consultants. Each session lasts for 4-5 days. The teaching takes place at the school in light, fresh and clean premises with a view of the Fryken lakes. Some of the lectures are given in the Alma Löv Museum, a centre for contemporary art in the middle of the countryside. It comprises a large newly renovated barn with comfortable armchairs, skylights and a view of the surrounding landscape. We also visit the Göteborg Film Festival.

The programme includes ten weeks of learning in the workplace.
